NAIS took part in a round table of the ECC

In compliance with all the latest anti-epidemic measures, the European Consumer Center  organizеd a round table on the challenges faced by consumers and traders in online shopping. The event took place on September 9, 2021 on the terrace of Grand Hotel Sofia.

The Chairman of the Board of NAIS, Mr. Bogomil Nikolov, commented on the rights of consumers and the challenges they face when shopping through social networks.

The chairman of the CPC, Mr. Dimitar Margaritov, introduced us to the most current issues of the changes in the lives of consumers in the conditions of Covid-19.

The Director General of the General  Directorate for Market Control, Mr. Ignat Aresnov, briefly presented the new provisions in consumer legislation related to the entry into force of EU Directive 2019/770 on contracts for supply of digital content and digital services and Directive EU 2019/771 concerning contracts for the sale of goods. The two directives have been transposed into Bulgarian legislation through the Law on the Provision of Digital Content and Digital Services and on the Sale of Goods, which enters into force on 1 January 2022.

The Director of the EPC in Bulgaria, Ms. Sonya Spasova, presented the activities of the center and its experience in dealing with cross-border disputes in the changed consumer environment in 2020. The topics of internet fraud against consumers and challenges for online merchants related to unscrupulous customers were also discussed. .
